What are some common mistakes you see couples make while preparing for their wedding?
Not hiring wedding planner. Not doing enough research. Not communicating enough details!
If you could give couples one piece of advice, what would it be?
Relax and enjoy your wedding day! You do all the planning and preparation that you can. But, you need to go with the flow on your big day. You will get married and your friends and family will celebrate with you and have fun no matter what happens. If something does not work out, you will still have plenty of good moments to remember and be thankful for.
What don't couples know about your business category that they need to know?
This is an investment in unique piece of custom art! You will enjoy looking at your beautiful wedding painting every single day for a very long time. I use archival materials for my paintings to ensure longevity. If you are already married and come across this service, please know that I also offer studio commissions that are done from the photos. This makes a great gift for holidays and special occasions.
What is one question a couple should be asking that they don't know to ask (specific to you or in the general planning sense)?
One of the most common questions is: how much is it? I would say you need to ask yourself: will this mean something to me in few years from now?
What sets you apart from other vendors in your field?
I am a full-time visual artist. I bring various aspects of fine art to live wedding painting: from artist quality materials to my painting process. I offer live painting in Oils as well as Watercolors. I start, finish and present most of my commissions at the event! I also offer the option of framing: couples take home unique piece of custom art that is framed and ready to hang! Imagine looking at this next morning!
Tell us about your favorite wedding that you've been part of.
I am grateful for each of my live wedding painting commissions. There are some memorable ones where I had to deal with elements: from frigid cold, rain and mud to tropical winds! I have painted in pitch dark venues and also very tight spaces. Once I was set up right under a Dinosaur! And sometimes timelines change without notice! You can't experience those things in the studio!
